Description

As a project management practitioner, your success and effectiveness is determined by the quality of your professional relationships. In this course you will learn and practice the skills necessary to build and maintain positive relationships with your team members, stakeholders, and customers. Topics include interpersonal communications, active listening, conflict management, influencing, trust building, decision-making, and constructive feedback.

Prerequisites

Students working towards the Montgomery College Project Management Certificate must first complete PM101: Methodology Overview

Objectives

  • Explain the importance of fostering trust to build relationships and improve collaboration.
  •  Describe the use of different communication skills to inspire and influence others with whom you work.
  • Develop active listening methods that will empower others to express themselves more fully and clearly, leading to shared understanding and consensus.
  • Demonstrate ways you can meet the needs of team members and the organization with enhanced interpersonal skills, including effective decision-making, feedback, and delegation.
  • Develop techniques to lead effective conflict and problem-solving conversations, without damaging your relationships.
  •  Demonstrate learning through passing a course exam.
