Center for Sustainable Business (CSB)

About CSB

The MC Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) is the community-college pioneer in advancing sustainable business practices and fostering socially conscious entrepreneurs. Through innovative curriculum, interdisciplinary collaboration, active research, and experiential learning opportunities, CSB empowers students, faculty, and the College with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to adopt and advance sustainability in their organizations, communities, and beyond.

Mission

To empower changemakers by providing resources and activities that prepare them to implement best practices in sustainable business with the goal of creating competitive, resilient, and environmentally friendly companies that are socially responsible, providing benefits for stakeholders and society now and in the future.

Defining Sustainable Business

Businesses worldwide are looking for ways to implement best practices associated with business sustainability, including, but not limited to consideration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. Such factors help companies improve operating efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, promote social responsibility, and enhance corporate governance. Adopting sustainable practices can improve business performance and growth, while ensuring viability of “people, planet, and profit.”
