Dr. Michelle Campbell

Dr. Campbell is a higher education leader who is deeply committed to student success and ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging remain at the forefront of the community college promise. She works to collaborate with internal and external partners to support teaching and learning, secure resources in support of campus innovation, and meet the growing workforce and economic needs of the county and state for which her respective institution serves.

Dr. Campbell has 20 years of experience working in education and the non-profit sector. Throughout her career, she has served in various positions at two and four-year public and private institutions across the United States and internationally. As Senior Vice President, she oversees the strategic vision of the College’s advancement and community engagement team, which includes the Office of Development, the Montgomery College Foundation, the Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science and Technology at Montgomery College (PIC MC) Foundation, the Alumni Association, Community Engagement, Grants and Sponsored Programs, and Special Events. Dr. Campbell’s oversight also includes the Office of Marketing and Communications, which manages MC’s marketing, branding, website, public relations, social media, publications, and the Montgomery College TV Station (MCTV). She also provides oversight of MC’s external and presidential communications strategy.

Prior to joining Montgomery College, Dr. Campbell spent five years in the state of New Jersey serving Middlesex College as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and five years in the state of Washington serving Renton Technical College as Executive Director of Institutional Advancement.

In addition to her service at Montgomery College, Dr. Campbell serves on several boards and commissions, including the American Association of Women in Community Colleges’ National Board of Directors, the American Association of Community College’s Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation Commission, and the Holy Cross Health Foundation’s Board of Directors. Dr. Campbell holds a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, a master’s degree from the University of Waikato (New Zealand), and a doctorate degree from Northeastern University.
