The Alcus’ have already made a significant impact on the lives of students at Montgomery College through their support of the Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) program. In addition, Mary Pat Alcus has been a long-time member of the Montgomery College Foundation’s Board of Directors, where she now holds the role of chair.

Understanding the time demands student-athletes face, the Alcus’ scholarship covers the cost of tuition as well as providing them with a stipend. “For our student-athletes, working while taking classes, training, and competing simply isn’t an option,” said Mary Pat Alcus.

The Alcus’ decision to establish a scholarship specifically for student-athletes demonstrates their unwavering commitment to supporting the academic and athletic success of Montgomery College students.

“We are incredibly grateful to Mary Pat and Darren Alcus for their extraordinary support of our student-athletes,” said Dr. Jermaine F. Williams, president of Montgomery College. “Empowering students with athletic passions to achieve their academic goals simultaneously is a life-changing investment. The Alcus’ commitment shows how deeply they understand the role of athletics in forming academic communities that propel student achievement.”
