Seventeen of our performing arts students showcased their talent at the nation’s largest college student theatre festival in Pittsburg. Competing at the Kennedy Center American College (KCAC) Theatre Festival, they excelled in categories ranging from acting and design to stage management and technology tricks--rivaling peers from 80 colleges and universities across nine states. Among MC’s 13 nominations, five MC students received awards. The most competitive student winners, included Hedy Valentine, awarded the Excellence in Classical Performance award among 170 competitors; Sara Quintanilla and her 24-Hour Play group, awarded a regional certificate of recognition for best collaboration; and Kat Eisenberg's design and technology team, who captured first place in the Tech Olympics. The traveling students created an exuberant, short glimpse of their vibrant experiences at the KCAC. Their accomplishments underscore the benefits of experiential learning.
