Social Resource Program
Many students attending college face barriers to meeting their basic needs. This can impact their academic success and ability to complete their goals. Students often lack awareness of services in the community and the skills to navigate social systems to access resources, services, and programs to meet basic needs.
Montgomery College is committed to supporting students’ basic needs through the Social Resource Program (SRP). The SRP provides students with one-on-one holistic case management and coaching facilitated by Social Resource Coaches. SRP staff foster student access to support for basic needs in the following areas: food, housing, health coverage, medical and dental, mental health, childcare, social, educational, transportation, legal, financial, and other identified needs.
How to Get Started
Any currently enrolled student at Montgomery College is eligible for services from the SRP. Students can use the Request Help feature on Starfish and select "I'd like to learn more about the resources available through the Student Wellness Center for Success." Put an X beside the reason(s) for requesting assistance. Click here to learn how to self-refernew window. Complete the referral herenew window. MC faculty/staff can also refer to the SRP by using Starfish.
