The HE/ES/PE department was pleased to receive a visit from Montgomery County Council member Gabe Albornoz during Prof. Michael Clark’s Principles and Practices of Health-Related Fitness class. Mr. Albornoz sits on the Montgomery County Council's Education and Culture Committee. He is the former head of the Montgomery County Recreation Department and spoke with our Exercise Science students about his former role in recreation.
Montgomery College is excited to now offer a Maryland State Department of Health approved Community Health Worker Certification! This certificate combines four Health Science courses (HLTH 105, HLTH 160, HLTH 225, and HLTH 298) with a 40-hour practicum at Holy Cross Hospital. At completion of this program, the participants will be qualified for and assisted in applying for a Maryland State Community Health Worker Certification.
