Art Department
Work by our students is showcased regularly in the atrium of the High Technology (HT) building on the Germantown Campus.
GALLERY SCHEDULEThe Germantown Art Department offers a variety of interdisciplinary, foundation-level courses. Students can earn general-studies credits as they learn some of the history of the Visual Arts in lecture-format courses such as Art Appreciation (ARTT127) or The History of Art (ARTT200/201).
For a more hands-on experience students may try a studio course such as Drawing (ARTT100) or Design Studio: 2-Dimension (ARTT102). The department also regularly sponsors additional activities on campus including Student Art Club, Student and Faculty Art Exhibits, and Artist Talks, among others.
Our faculty members are accomplished in their fields, committed to their students' artistic development, available with help outside of the classroom, with transfers to four-year universities, job searches, and with portfolio presentation and development.
We are a committed and growing department with the philosophy that education in the Arts is a critical component for every person to progress and become successful in life.
