View of Germantown
The Germantown Campus is a sprawling, scenic campus located just 30 miles north of Washington, D.C., between Route 355 and Interstate 270. The newest Montgomery College campus, it opened on this site in 1978.

There is excitement about the completion of construction of the Germantown Innovation Center on the second floor of the renovated Goldenrod Building; the Innovation Center houses start-up businesses that occupy the 11 wet labs, 2 clean rooms, and 45 offices.  The College’s Goldenrod Academic Center opened for the fall 2008 semester on the first floor with seven new classrooms, including two computer classrooms and offices for faculty and staff.

The planned Bioscience Education Center has received priority ranking for construction from Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley as part of his Bio 2020 Initiative, from the Statewide Community College Presidents, and from Montgomery College; the Center is scheduled to receive State and County funding with possible groundbreaking in the winter of 2009-2010.

A 40-acre Science and Technology Park is also planned for construction on the Germantown Campus with possible groundbreaking in winter 2010-2011.

The Germantown Campus has made a special commitment to community use of its facilities, including the library, physical education facilities, and other spaces available for club, association, or civic activities. Our faculty and staff work closely with businesses in the I-270 high-tech corridor, civic groups, and elected officials to acquire and share resources to better serve those who work, study, and live in the upcounty area and the region.
