Montgomery College's Health Sciences, Health, and Physical Education area offers degrees and career training programs in nursing, sonography, X-ray technology, health information management, physical therapy, and more.
Dr. Monique Denise Davis, PhD, MSN, RN is originally from the Washington, DC area. She graduated from the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN). She earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education (MSN) from Marymount University in Virginia. Dr. Davis was conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a Specialization in Nursing Education from Capella University (PhD) in Minnesota. Her dissertation was entitled “A Quasi-Experimental Study Examining The Impact Of Web-Based Simulation On The Critical Thinking Skills Of Associate Degree Nursing Students.”
Dr. Davis has been a registered nurse for 20 years. She served the nursing community in areas related to women and children's health. She has over eight years of nursing education experience. These experiences include working as a clinical instructor, professor, both in the classroom and online instruction. She has been employed with several colleges and universities in the Washington, DC area that educate associate and baccalaureate level nursing students.
She is passionate about educating students within the health sciences disciplines. She is an advocate for the use of technology to enhance the educational experiences of nursing students.

Noncredit Nursing Related Courses
Nursing related courses include: Certified Nursing Assistant CNA and Certified Geriatric
Assistant GNA classroom and clinical, CPR and First Aid training, and additional nursing
refresher classroom, lab, and clinical courses for nurses wishing to reenter the field.
Noncredit Health Career Training Programs
Students have the opportunity to learn an entry level skill in the field of health
sciences such as dialysis, EKG, phlebotomy, or pharmacy technician. The Clinical Medical
Assistant Program includes lab courses and a clinical externship.
